Safe Water is Crucial Following a Disaster

“Prior Preparation Prevents Poor Performance" - Army saying Just as military leaders develop a plan and strategize to defeat an enemy, so we should plan in advance for an unforeseen event.   We pay car insurance, health insurance, life insurance, and homeowners insurance, yet many Americans still don't have any kind of "insurance" if their utilities were somehow interrupted and they found themselves without water.   According to the CDC half of all adults in America don't have any plans in place in the event of an emergency, in spite of 80% of Americans living in a county that was hit by a weather-related disaster..  The CDC recommends storing one gallon of water per day for each person.  So why don't Americans...

Inexpensive Protein Sources for the Potential Coming Food Shortages

“I have from an early age abjured the use of meat, and the time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men.” - Leonardo DaVinci Anyone who has become a vegetarian or vegan has inevitably been asked the question:  "But what do you eat?!"  It's hard to believe that with today's easy access to information, that so many people are unaware that you don't need meat in the human diet, and in fact, those who adopt a non-meat diet are often healthier. "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail." - Benjamin Franklin According to an Esurance survey of 1,000 Americans, 75 percent do not prepare for severe weather emergencies.  The Adelphi University Center for Health Innovation conducted a poll which showed that 44 percent of Americans don't have first-aid kits and 48 percent lack emergency supplies for use in the event of catastrophes.  A Harris poll found that only 54 percent of Americans say they are prepared for long-term power outage or other natural disaster, such as a flood, wildfire or hurricane. Dr. Irwin Redlener, director of the National Center for Disaster Preparedness at Columbia University stated: "We are experiencing a continuous increase in the number of extreme weather events, and...
